Let me tell you about a couple of great ways to save some money, and get great items this summer at Bonk’s Market.

There are a few different ways to combat rising costs of meat this summer. Most of these ideas deal with buying things in a little bit larger quantity than normal, but I wouldn’t consider it “bulk” exactly.

The best way of buying something that you really enjoy having is to purchase what’s known as a primal cut. A primal cut is a large piece of meat which usually gets broken down into several different items. An example of that would be a piece of meat called the Boneless Top Butt.

The Boneless Top Butt is the piece of meat from which we get our New York Sirloin Steaks, Short Cut Rump Steaks, a bit of meat for hamburg, and possibly a bit of meat for stir fry. If you were to get a whole Boneless Top Butt, you could have it cut up exactly as you want it. If you don’t care for the Short Cut Rump steaks, or the stir fry beef, you can get a bit more hamburg. Your New York Sirloin steaks can be cut as thick or thin as you’d like, and everything can be packaged as you wish.

Now, here’s the best part. Instead of paying 7.99/lb for your New York Sirloin steaks and 4.39/lb for your hamburg, you’ll pay somewhere around 4.09/lb(price varies week –to-week) for all of it! The total amount of the items you will get varies, but it will be somewhere around 10 lbs. This is one of the smaller primal cuts of meat out there. Some others can be in the 20 – 30 lb range.

The point is that you can get great quality items packaged at your request for a much lower cost than traditional “over the case” purchasing.

Another great way to get some high quality items is to order a small meat bundle. We have meat bundles starting at just $33.00. They can range up to $250.00 for the largest, but ordering a small meat bundle can substantially reduce your costs. The best part is that we have two great bundle sheets to choose from. You can mix and match your own bundle, or select one of a number of bundles that we have written out already.

You don’t have to get an extremely large order just because the word “bundle” is associated with it. Also, our bundles are also customized to you. Our mix and match bundles have items that are packaged in smaller quantities so that you’re not stuck in the kitchen repackaging your order for hours. Our custom fresh bundles are packaged at your request, so there is no work involved for you at all. That is part of the service we provide here.
